Whether you're an elite athlete or just someone who's suffering from pain or injury, I can help!

I regularly treat patients with sciatica, back pain, shoulder and neck twinges, knee problems and hip pain, to name just a few.

When it comes to injury and pain management, my treatments are targeted and effective, which will help you move forward, and I will fully support you on your journey to recovery.

I pride myself on the quality of each stage of your treatment, from the initial consultation to follow-up appointments and rehabilitation plans.

Let me support you.

SPORTS MASSAGE AND INJURY REHABILITATION

You’ve probably done your best to nurse your pain or injury at home, and now it’s just getting frustrating.

Maybe you have seen another professional but are not getting the long term results you wanted. Don’t lose the faith. Let’s get this done the right way from the start.

The root cause of your injury is paramount. It’s not enough to just give the affected area a “there, there” approach. Your assessment and treatment will be thorough and tailored to you, so we follow the right pathway that leads to successful recovery. We’ll progress at a pace agreed between us, and you’ll be in charge of your end result.

Whether you have lower body stress, for example in the ankle, knee, hip or groin, or if you have issues with upper body in the elbow, ribs, shoulder, neck or back pain, I can help. We’ll gather your history, do a physical assessment and decide together on your recovery journey.

Of course, you may just want a medicinal sports massage, and that’s just as easy to book too.

GAIT ANALYSIS ASSESSMENT

If you believe that swinging your arms in a certain way or striding out to cover more ground can help you run faster, this is going to be an interesting read for you

There’s evidence-based intelligence that changing your gait alone won’t make you faster, BUT what gait analysis can identify is which customised variables, like knee flexion at mid-stance, upper torso rotation, arch height, hip drop or stride length, could be altered to improve your efficiency, comfort and performance.

This flows nicely into the benefits that moving optimally can bring:
Pain relief
Injury prevention
Optimal performance
Improved Posture and Balance
Efficent use of energy
Sustainable movement patterns
Improved mobility

Your gait analysis assessment will include:
Face-to-face communication cementing your goals and reasons for having your gait assessed
Range of motion, mobility and strength tests
A comprehensive results sheet of your video analysis
Working through the identified areas for change with you and helping you regain confidence and satisfaction in your running
Follow up communication to keep building on your progress

Gait Analysis Assessment (75 minutes) - £80

In-person Follow Up (45 minutes) - £50

NEUROTRAINING

Definition = Looking at movement, balance, special awareness and performance through a neurological lens.

Most importantly, once identified, Neurotraining identifies parts of your brain that are underperforming, so we can work together with brain challenging exercises that help to reignite and target those areas.

Some of these exercises involve movement and gentle physical exercise, but all are designed to improve your balance, increase your spatial awareness, give you more confidence in movement and reduce your levels of worry and stress when it comes to difficult tasks.

So, who is this type of treatment best suited to? Well, all of us actually!

You’d be surprised how our brains just settle for the easiest way to perform any task, sometimes leading us to get away with not moving with our full capacity of strength and ability.

Neurotraining uses our vision, the vestibular system, our sensory nerves and other fabulous elements of our autonomic nervous system to encourage the left and right sides of the brain to communicate better, increasing levels of input and output from the brain. It’s not rocket science, but it does show us how well we can adapt to new reactive decisions, become sharper and we see results that lift our personal wellbeing.

What3words: ///magical.testy.third

Where can I park?
There is free parking on the road at the bottom of my drive. However, if it’s busy and you can’t find space, feel free to come onto the gravel drive.

What should I wear?
Ideally, wear loose clothing you can move in easily. Depending on your treatment, you may be asked to do some stretches or gentle exercises. You may need to remove items to provide access for massage. For gait analysis, also bring running trainers as you will be required to run/walk on a treadmill in the clinic.

Can I get changed at the clinic?
Yes, there is a private, lockable room to change in with a customer toilet.

Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring your most recent pair of running trainers. Also have a think about your run schedule over the last 2 months so we can discuss it. If you have any hospital correspondance relating to any recent injury, and you are happy for me to read it, it’s a good idea to bring that with you.

How can I contact you?
I prefer to correspond by text, simply because I can fit that in during my busy day, and you’ll get a rapid response. My mobile number is 07968 696 550. Alternatively, email me on contact@scsportsmassage.co.uk and I’ll reply as soon as possible.
